Leveling the Playing Field
The BECE Relief Project provides comprehensive examination preparation support to Junior High School students from low-income families in the Tema Metropolis. Many bright students fail the Basic Education Certificate Examination not because of lack of ability, but because they cannot afford textbooks, past question papers, or extra tutoring.
Our program provides: free weekly tutorial classes in core subjects (Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies), complete textbook and stationery packs, access to our curated library of past questions with marking schemes, and mentorship from university student volunteers.
In 2024 alone, 500 students completed our program and 92% passed their BECE with grades qualifying them for senior high school admission. We track each student's progress through the year and provide personalized support where needed.
